Yoel Tordjman worked for four decades toward a body of 613 — the number of the commandments. He photographed something ordinary, painted a hundred and fifty translucent layers over it, printed it, then worked the printed surface by hand. Every edition here comes from his own master file.

The print was never the end of the work.
He began outside the studio, with a macro photograph of something plain — a stone, a broken fence, a leaf, the page of a book. Then came the layers, painted digitally with a wireless brush, a hundred and fifty of them, each one translucent.
Only then did he print. And then he went back into the printed surface with pigment ink and coloured lacquer, by hand, until it stopped being a print.
My canvas is a screen and my materials are coloured particles of light.
